COOKING WITH CREME CARAMELLE

For the Filling:
5 apples, peeled and cut into medium pieces
2 Tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp granulated sugar
2 tbsp light brown sugar, packed
1 tsp cinnamon
2 tbsp cornstarch
For the Crumble:
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
113 grams ( 1 stick) melted(or vegan butter) cubed
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Preheat oven to 360F
Melt your butter in the microwave or a saucepan and set aside.
Peel apples and slice them into medium pieces. In a large bowl combine the apples, cornstarch, cinnamon, sugars, and lemon juice. Mix gently and set aside.
In another large bowl combine the flour, baking powder, sugar and cooled melted butter. Start mixing with a wooden spoon and after a couple minutes start using your hands to form little crumble balls. Don’t over mix.
In a oven proof dish add the apple mixture and spread evenly throughout dish. Top with the crumble mixture. Put in the oven for 45-60min until the apples are nicely cooked. If the crumble coating starts to brown too much towards the end of the baking period cover with tinfoil so that the apples are perfectly cooked
